Legal Issues for Small Businesses

This free workshop will consist of two parts:

1. Information about City, State, and Federal regulations that apply to any business right from the start, including regulations that are enforced by the NYS Department of Labor, the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, and by various Federal agencies.
2. Information about laws and regulations that more recently became effective and impose serious obligations most small businesses don’t know about: the Fair Chance Act, the NYS HERO Act, the NYC Paid Safe and Sick Leave Law, the Salary History Ban, and the many faces of discrimination.
