While the month of March is dedicated to showcasing the achievements of women past and present, these female entrepreneurs (compiled by Thrillist) show us that building an equitable society for all requires tapping into the collaborative spirit of community every day.

It takes a lot to run a business and when you’re a woman, it arguably takes more.

From homespun earthenware and high-fashion streetwear to perfectly shaped brows and craft beer, it’s clear that talent runs aplenty in this town.

New York City is home to a plethora of women-owned businesses worthy of your wallet – here are some of Time Out New York‘s favorites.

The Columbus Amsterdam BID and nearly 30 other business improvement districts (BIDs), neighborhood associations, and merchants’ groups from New York City’s five boroughs came together in March to honor Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

Their focus was women-owned small businesses in the city, which have been particularly hard hit during the pandemic.

The Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership rounded up a list of women-owned businesses across a variety of sectors in their district to support.

Celebrating some of Staten Island’s women-owned businesses in the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Staten Island, and within our Small Business Resource Network.

The East Village is home to many independent women-owned businesses.
